Virco choose AWS and Intextra.web

Wednesday, 12 August 2009 @ 11:03

Virco knew they needed to do something with their web site. In addition to giving the site a new look and feel, they wanted something that would engage their users. However, they lacked a specific vision for what this would be. Early in 2009, Virco contacted AWS to help with this task. AWS was chosen for their experience in building custom web applications but also for their thought leadership and guidance.

AWS, in partnership with Tricky Business have designed a new look for the existing Virco site, and in addition a Community site is currently being developed. The idea is that the Community site will be a place where HIV professionals can network and share their knowledge and opinions in a constructive way. Our challenge has been to create a web site with tools that inspire and facilitate this sharing. So far, we are succeeding. A first draft of the community site is currently being reviewed.

Carsten Weise said, “Virco chose AWS to bring our website up to “Internet 2.0” because we believe they are tuned in to the cutting edge of new web technologies and viral networking. We benefit from their professionalism and can-do attitude, and besides that, they’re just a nice bunch of people to work with.”

The Virco Lab website is now working with Intextra.Web and the new look website is currently scheduled to launch in early 2010.
